Rebates

Affordable Hearing Solutions

Unlike many hearing aid providers we will 'unbundle' your account, clearly showing the price of each item and each consultation.  This allows you to pay for only the services you use and seek a claim for reimbursement where appropriate.  You may be entitled to rebates, government subsidies, or other financial assistance towards hearing aids or hearing services.

TAX REBATES

You may be eligible for a tax offset if your net medical expenses exceed the threshold amount.  Hearing aids are included as a medical expense*. (*conditions apply) For further information www.ato.gov.au

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE

Please check with any private health fund you may have for specific details of any Audiology consultation fees, contribution to hearing devices and/or annual device repairs to which you may be entitled.

MEDICARE REBATES

Leanne Betterridge is in private practice and is registered with Medicare Australia.  Specific Audiology item numbers are allocated under the Medicare Benefits Schedule* (*subject to appropriate referrals being in place), for more information contact Medicare Australia; mbsonline@health.gov.au  or telephone 132 150.  See also our 'Referrals' section.

According to MBS, patients need to decide if they will use Medicare or their Private Health Insurance ancillary cover (if available) to pay for Audiological services.  Patients cannot use their private health insurance ancillary cover to 'top up' the Medicare rebate paid.  However, any out-of-pocket costs for eligible services will count toward the Medicare Safety Net for the patient.

At this stage we are unable to process any Medicare rebates or Private Health Insurance claims on site at Hearing New England Pty Ltd.  Payment for services must be made at the time of the consultation and an itemised receipt will be issued to aid your claim for payment.

OFFICE OF HEARING SERVICES (OHS)

The Office of Hearing Services provide government subsidies for a range of rehabilitation services for eligible* pensioners and veterans, including hearing assessment, provision of hearing aids and maintenance.  (*conditions apply -refer to www.health.gov.au/hear or phone 1800 500 726 for more information).  Application forms are available through Hearing New England Pty Ltd, simply contact our office on 02 6772 8382 and we can guide you through the process.
